This is where you’ll find us performing this weekend!

Hi everyone, we have a busy schedule this weekend. On saturday we will be playing at the lovely rockabilly festival “Rock Around the Atomium” in Brussels, right underneath – you guessed it 🙂 – the Atomium. And on Sunday we will be playing at the wonderful Breda Jazz Festival.

We are so looking forward to these!

Listen to the first single from our new album! (Official video)

Early 2015 we started working on our new album: “The Longest Mile”. We wanted to take our time to get it right, so we decided to record on various sessions throughout the whole year. So, with a fresh year ahead of us, we are glad to announce that we completed the album. We’ve got 12 new tunes for you. You will still hear a lot of Western Swing on it, but – to keep things interesting for us (and you) – we also experimented with Bluegrass, Americana and Country Blues. There will be a big release party at the beginning of May! We will release more details soon! But in the meantime, have a listen to our first single: “The Kings of Goblin Market”.

It’s a song about greed and not having any scruples. You’ll find the lyrics below.

We hope you will like it!

The Kings of Goblin Market
(Music and Words © Tom De Poorter – 2015)

A two piece suit and a little baby liver
Come buy, come buy, come buy!
Don’t mind the skeletons, shake and shiver
Come try, come try, come try!

Yes we do sell … anything
Yes what you smell … is the strident scent of kings
Load up your truck … give in, give in, give in

Your heart for a buck
And if there ever comes a day
Your dreams run amuck
We’ll steal them come what may

Ching-a-ling, up jumps the devil on a string
Don’t yell, don’t yell, don’t yell!
If you ever want a nickel for your wedding ring
Do tell, do tell, do tell!

Yes we do buy … anything
No, it’s no lie … if you want the real thing
Load up your truck … give in, give in, give in

Your heart for a buck
And if there ever comes a day
Your dreams run amuck
We’ll steal them come what may

A cute little orphan with a second hand coffin
Don’t ask, don’t ask, don’t ask!
We handpick Russian brides every so often
It’s a craft, it’s a craft, it’s a craft!

Yes we do sell … anything
Yes what you smell … is the strident scent of kings
Load up your truck … give in, give in, give in

Your heart for a buck
And if there ever comes a day
Your dreams run amuck
We’ll steal them come what may

With this video message, we wish you a Happy New Year!

We hope you didn’t have to spend Christmas in Jail like the little fellow in the song below. Originally recorded by The Youngsters in 1956, this is a funny little novelty song about spending Christmas and New Year’s Eve in jail for driving while intoxicated.

We wish you 365 days of happiness for 2016!
Happy New Year everyone!

Love,
Little Kim & the Alley Apple 3.

Friday Song: The New Lost City Ramblers

The New Lost City Ramblers was and old-time string band that formed in New York City in 1958 during the Folk Revival. With Mike Seeger, John Cohen, and Tom Paley this was a hell of a band! You probably know this song from the movie “O Brother, where art thou?”. The song is called “Man of constant sorrow”.

Happy friday everyone! And have a good weekend!
